Yes, life does at times simply continue on "as normal," but that doesn't mean that there aren't highlights. Spring is attempting to show up here in Amman: last weekend it was actually hot, and I've been able to play outside a lot more! And yes, friends, my sandbox, and the slide are definite highlights every day.
But March also brought other highlights: Marilyn (or "Ati," my nanny) had her birthday, so Mommy and I made a birthday card for her and I got to help her eat cake to celebrate.
I also love dogs, and just recently I got to meet one--a BIG dog (Mom's note: she's not kidding. This dog is probably over 6 ft. tall when he stands on his hind legs!)--whose name is Misha. Misha means bear in Circassian . . . but I think he looks more like a lion. Fortunately, though, Misha is actually a lot more like a teddy bear: last time I got to pet him, he licked both my hands and my face. So every morning when I wake up, I make sure to remind Mom of the big doggy and the other doggy that lives near us, the one with the ball.
I still love reading books. Some of my favorites right now are Bears on Chairs and the story of David and Goliath in my little Bible (Goliath says "ha, ha, ha," and I'm pretty good at imitating that!) I also like Things that Move (it's got a bus and a taxi in it!) and any book with a doggy or a kitty in it.
I suppose the other new thing that I like is that I now get to go pee-pee in the potty. Ati had one that was just my size, and we put it in the living room next to the fire (because it's too COLD in the bathroom!). Mommy and Daddy even got me some great new panties so that I'm just like Mommy and Ati! Truth is, though, that the real reason I like going potty is that I sometimes get to read books while I'm going potty AND I get to hold Moo (my pink cow) and suck on my paci while I'm going potty. I've managed to make it last a long time before, just so that I get to keep those!
